Mentoring

Mentoring is a partnership among equals. Mentors serve as benevolent mirrors. They raise questions that were still missing in one's own inner dialogue and help filter the essential signals from the noise of everyday life.
To prevent mentoring sessions from fading into non-commitment, we use a rhythmic structure. Usually weekly, no longer than 30 minutes, and following five steps:
1. Gratitude
What have you experienced?
What are you grateful for?
Whom are you grateful for? → Can you express this gratitude?
2. Challenges
What are you currently working on?
Where are you challenged?
→ What do you want to tackle yourself?
→ Who could support you from your or my network?
→ What would you like to look at more deeply with me?
3. Inspiration
Who has inspired you since our last meeting?
Where could you be present and learn in the near future? → Access to network
Mentors can also bring in inspiring elements (story, text, poem, music, art, etc.). Both say what it triggers in them.
4. Visibility
What of your journey have you made visible since last time for yourself and for others
(text/image/audio/video)?
What would you like to learn and make visible next?
5. Passing On
What could you pass on recently?
What would you like to apply or pass on next (learnings, things from
mentoring, or quite practical help to others)?
Closing + optional extension
Review notes and summarize.
Is there something you'd like to look at more deeply?
→ Either add time now or arrange an additional meeting
→ Schedule the next mentoring appointment
