While Colearning often happens intuitively with children and teenagers, adults sometimes need a bridge to find their way back from conditioned "being taught" to self-directed learning. The Colearning Academy provides exactly this structure. It's not a building, but a service provider for autonomy.
The Inversion of the Curriculum
In classical continuing education, the person follows the plan. At the Colearning Academy, the plan follows the person. Participants bring their own project or their burning question β whether a research question in a specialty field, building self-employment, a reorientation, or an innovation project. This becomes the individual learning plan. The Academy provides the structure as a service:
- Rhythm: Fixed colearning days and learning coachings offer community and commitment.
- Resonance: The Colearning community (peers), experts in the respective field, and learning coaches offer resonance.
- Visibility: A CAS (Certificate of Advanced Studies) makes informally acquired competencies readable for the formal world.
The degree is not the goal, but the confirmation of an individual path. Through making visible, with portfolio and if needed with a CAS, "wild learning" suddenly becomes connectable for HR departments and CVs. The Academy shows what adult education can look like when it's not about stockpiling knowledge ("just in case") but about acute need ("just in time").
